Like other Ultra/Plus models in the Acolyte range, the Plus 9ft Feeder is a stepped-up version of the Ultra 9ft model but remains super slim and lightweight. The Red Range 9ft Mini Carp Feeder is the perfect short-range weapon for commercial fisheries. It is an ideal choice for casting bombs and feeders up to 25 meters when targeting bream, tench, F1s and match-sized carp to 8lb. This great-value rod comes with two push-in slow taper glass Feeder Tips of 1oz and 2oz for registering the shyest of bites. It can also be conveniently folded into two for ease of transportation. The 9ft (2.74m) length makes it a great choice for tight swims. The short length also enables you to bring fish much closer to the bank without having to stretch so far to net them. Short rods like this have become increasingly popular for accurately casting across to the far bank of narrow, canal-type 'snake lakes'. These rods also excel when fishing a feeder just meters from the bank – but make sure you use this tactic in conjunction with a freespool reel or a slackened clutch, as the takes can be explosive! The 14ft Acolyte Ultra boasts an exceptionally slim, high modulus carbon blank. This model is just 5.25oz and actually better balanced than most 13ft models! Paired with a compact float fish reel, the rods tend to sit up in the hand at an angle above horizontal, making them a joy to fish with all day. They have been designed mainly for reel lines from 2lb 8oz to 4lb+, which is roughly 0.12mm to 0.18mm diameter monofilament. The blank feels very rigid and has a light, crisp action with little or no bounce for really excellent line and float control. At the same time, the tip action is soft enough to act as a gentle shock absorber, cushioning the strike and preventing hook pulls. This allows ultra-light hooklengths below 1lb (0.08mm) to be fished with confidence.
