The Kamakura sharpening process produces a hook point which is every bit as good as a hand-sharpened hook, but without you having to spend all the time and effort involved in doing it yourself – you can be confident that these hooks are perfect every time, straight out of the box. The Kamakura Wide Gape X is a stepped-up version of this classic pattern, with thicker gauge wire, but featuring a much sharper, finer point than the standard 'X' hook – it is likely that you will need to change your hook after every fish you catch, due to the points being so delicate. It features a slightly in-turned eye, with a short shank, heavily forged bend, and a beaked point. It can be used with a wide variety of different pop-up and bottom bait presentations, and once it goes in it tends to stay in. The points are protected by a blob of wax which needs to be carefully removed before use, and they come supplied in a box which holds each individual hook securely in place – you get ten hooks in each box.

Hybrid Wide Gape Barbless is heavier in the gauge with an excessively sharp beaked point making it more secure than most barbless carp hooks, all the features combine to make a hook which turns more bites into runs and more runs into fish in the net. The Kamakura Choddyhook is sharpened post production to an extremely high tolerance. This hook pattern is designed for use with fluorocarbon and stiff monofilament hook links such as Korda Mouthtrap. Essential for use with Hinged Stiff and Chod rigs. Each hook point is consistent, every single hook being sold has the same super sharpness. With consistency being the key we take pride in getting every point exactly the same. The second is a wax coating on the sharpened part of the point, this unique way of covering the tipensures they stay in the best possible condition until they are ready to be used. Simply push the wax coating off before casting out and you'll be fishing with the sharpest hook you can possibly imagine.

The Korda BASIX Wide Gape hook has been designed as the perfect all-round pattern, which can be used straight out of the packet for a wide variety of rigs and without the need to add lots of other components - whether you are fishing bottom baits, pop-ups or wafters. The aggressive in-turned eye helps to ensure that it flips over and takes hold in the mouth, without the need to add additional Kickers or shrink tube.
