After 15 years the acclaimed Series 7 rods have been replaced as we take advantage of new and improved materials and manufacturing techniques in our new range of Vertex rods. Available in 10ft and 11ft and ideal on commercial carp waters from bank or platform. The rod handles everything from silverfish to F1's and bigger carp. The forgiving action reduces hook pulls to an absolute minimum. Optimum mono reel lines are 4lb to 6lb breaking strain. The rod is ideal for casting bombs and feeders at a variety of ranges. The rod includes two tips including a 2oz Glass tip and a 3oz Carbon tip. These new rods feature a high-grade cork handle with EVA casting grip, screw down reel seat, hook keeper ring, SiC guides throughout and stylish new Vertex branding.

Both have the required mellow actions which help play fish softly and thus avoid hook pulls. At the same time these have enough backbone to put the brakes on a chub diving for cover and even small commercial Carp. Accurate casting at ranges of approximately 40m (11ft) and 50m (12ft) with feeders up to about 45g is comfortable. Reel lines are in the range 4lb (1.8kg) to 6lb (2.7kg) although the 11ft could be matched with as low as 3lb (1.4kg). Some may even match these with braided reel lines to help with shy biting fish. Both 11ft and 12ft rods come with push-in Feedertips of 1 1/2oz glass and 2 1/2oz carbon with differing test curve tips easily bought to further extend their versatility. Using a slightly stiffer 3oz Feedertip will still closely follow the blank and should pose no problems although if you need to use even stiffer/stronger Feedertips then the Carp Feeder versions might be an even better choice as they have the same action but a little more power . Just like other Vertex Feeder rods being two pieces these can also be stored and transported made-up in a ready rod sleeve or hard case.

The 12ft Acolyte Distance Feeder rod is designed for fishing at long range and is capable of casting big feeders while retaining its fish playing action. This superbly powerful rod is capable of long range casting with feeders up to 3 oz (85g). With the right technique, distances approaching 80m can be achieved with remarkable accuracy. Many other distance feeder models end up unbalanced and over-gunned, and in some cases look more like beach casters than feeder rods! As a result, they lose tactile contact and feel when playing fish and result in more hook-pulls. Working with five times World Champion Alan Scotthorne and top international match anglers Steve Hemingray, Darren Davies and England Feeder Team Manager Dean Barlow, we have extensively field tested and modified various Acolyte Distance Feeder prototypes in the UK and Ireland. The finished model successfully combines the normal feeder rod requirements of bite detection, sensitivity, fish playing feel and balance with ultra long range casting. It also represents fantastic value for money compared to other models, some of which are more than twice the price! Optimum mono reel lines are 6lb to 10lb (2.7kg to 4.5kg) or 0.08 to 0.12mm braid. The oversized guides help with the use of shock leaders to gain the required distance.
