The Carp 1 is the first in an all-new family of pole floats built with strength and durability in mind. The same attention to detail has gone into these floats as our award-winning Alan Scotthorne range. This means that each float is made from the highest-grade balsa for optimum buoyancy and given a special ultra-tough acrylic paint finish to seriously reduce the chance of your main line cutting into the body. They also feature our unique black stainless steel spring eyes, which are smaller and lighter than other spring eyes on the market and designed not to pinch the line when under tension. A securely bonded black fiberglass stem and hollow plastic Glow Tip complete with strengthening spigot adds even more strength and security to these feature-packed floats. The Carp 2 is a relatively long design with a diamond-shaped body and hollow bristle. These properties make it extremely stable and great for coping with surface tow. The sensible 1.7mm tip diameter is also buoyant enough to allow you to drag some line on the bottom if required. It is also a great choice for presenting bigger hook baits such as worms, paste, meat and larger pellets As with the Carp 1, it features the same rugged paint finish, a robust carbon stem and our unique black stainless steel spring eyes. An additional feature is the Carp 2's relatively long 'banded tip'. This can really help to aid bite detection, especially with lift bites when the float is shot to the central black band. The Carp 3 is a strong and rugged pole float with an extra-thick Glow Tip. At 2.4mm, the hollow bristle is the thickest and most buoyant of all the Drennan Carp and AS floats currently available. This makes it perfect for big fish, large hook baits, turbulent conditions and any situation where extra visibility and buoyancy are needed. As with all Drennan Carp and AS floats, the high-grade balsa body is machine turned in our own factories and coated with a very special and super-tough acrylic paint. This creates an impressively hardwearing 'shell' that is much more resistant to damage Also included are the unique black stainless steel spring eyes, which are smaller and neater than the majority of pole float eyes on the market and double wound so the line cannot get pinched or trapped. The oval body shape helps with stability and offers just enough of a 'shoulder' should you wish to hold the float steady against any tow or drift. The Carp 5 is a worthy addition to the Drennan Carp pole float family. Its slim body aids bite detection and offers little resistance while the 0.6mm wire stem keeps the float supremely stable. A 1.5mm hollow Glow Tip works well with a multitude of hook baits, including maggots, casters, pellets, corn and worms. The tip is also securely bonded into the body and further reinforced with a strengthening spigot. A black stainless steel spring eye adds further durability and this is double wound to prevent the line from getting trapped or pinched. As with all the current Drennan pole floats, the Carp 5 is built and hand assembled in our own factories and finished with a special acrylic paint that makes it super tough and very difficult to mark. The AS5 'pencil' is the latest addition to the Alan Scotthorne signature range of pole floats. This slim shape first became popular for roach and silverfish, as it offers very little resistance to shy-biting fish. Many anglers now appreciate the benefits of this design for catching carp, F1s and quality silverfish on commercial fisheries. The AS5 can be used with practically any hook bait from pellets and maggots to punched bread and sweetcorn. The slim profile of the AS5 offers great bite detection and cuts through the water really cleanly on the strike. Importantly, this float is also extremely strong and durable with a top-grade balsa body protected by a special acrylic 'shell' that is incredibly tough and hardwearing. The AS6 is the latest addition to our award-winning pole float series designed in conjunction with Alan Scotthorne. It is currently the largest float family in the series and available in six sizes: 0.4g, 0.6g, 0.8g, 1g, 1.25g and 1.5g. The AS6 was designed to meet Alan's exacting requirements. Initially this was to cover deeper stillwaters of over 6ft (2m) or more. However, it soon became apparent just how versatile the AS6 was for a wide variety of venues, including rivers and deep canals. The oval body offers good stability, particularly in windy conditions. It is also made from high-grade balsa for maximum buoyancy, which is protected with our special acrylic paint finish to create a super-tough 'shell'. A 1.5mm hollow Glow Tip in red, orange or yellow offers excellent visibility and works well with a wide variety of hook baits. A long, durable carbon stem is securely bonded into the body and offers good stability without affecting the float's overall balance. The AS6 also features our unique black stainless steel spring eye. This is lighter than a conventional spring eye and also cannot be ripped out of the body like a traditional side eye can. The G-Tip 2 is a classic bodied pole float design with our latest tough, ultra-durable paint finish and a hollow Glow Tip. The old rule on float tips was that if the sun was in front of you and you were looking 'up light' towards the float, you really needed a black tip, because that was most visible. Not any more! These things positively shine like they were lit from within! More than this, these tips are hollow and buoyant, so they behave much better than solid plastic tips, support bigger baits and can be shot exactly how you wish with much more ease and accuracy.
