Shimano Spool Ultegra Spod XTE ULTSPODXTE

Shimano Spool Ultegra Spod XTE ULTSPODXTE – spool for precise spodding

The spool for the Shimano Ultegra Spod XTE reel is designed for anglers who use a spod and want to cast repeatedly to a chosen distance. The shallow aluminium AR-C spool is designed for braided line, while three line clips allow you to mark different baiting distances.

This description is for the spool. The supplied technical data also includes specifications for the matching Ultegra Spod XTE 14000 reel; these are clearly separated below from the specifications for the spool itself.

Key benefits and technologies

• Aluminium AR-C spool: the lip profile helps line release smoothly during the cast, which is useful when you need to reach a distant baiting spot with your spod.
• Shallow design for braided line: designed for use with braid when spodding, without an unnecessarily deep spool.
• Three line clips: allow you to mark multiple distances and repeatedly cast to the same baiting spots.
• Casting technologies of the matching reel: Super Slow 5 Oscillation, Rigid Cast and Parallel Body support line lay and controlled line release, with AR-C Spool forming part of the long-distance casting system.
• Drive system of the matching reel: CI4+ Body, HAGANE Gear, X-SHIP, Infinity Drive and Silent Drive contribute to the reel's strength, efficiency and smooth operation when repeatedly retrieving a spod. A line retrieve of 124 cm per handle turn speeds up retrieval, while the 90 mm handle with an ergonomic knob makes winding easier.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Is this a complete reel or just the spool?

A: This product is a spool for the Shimano Ultegra Spod XTE. The gear ratio, drag, bearing and 635 g weight specifications refer to the matching reel, not the spool itself.

Q: Is the spool designed for braided line?

A: Yes, the specified shallow AR-C design is intended for braided line used for spodding. The published capacities are for monofilament and should not be applied directly to braid.

Q: What are the three line clips for?

A: They allow you to mark different baiting distances. This lets you repeatedly cast to a chosen distance without measuring it out again before every cast.

Q: What is the spool capacity?

A: The stated monofilament capacity is 390 m of 0,30 mm line, 290 m of 0,35 mm line or 210 m of 0,40 mm line.
