- Streamliner Rig Booms have three primary functions. To mask and protect the knot, to act as a stiff boom to prevent tangles and to help lay the hooklink out away from the lead. Unlike other anti-tangle sleeves which tend to float up off the bottom at an angle, these are molded in a heavy polymer which lays flat, minimizing the need for tungsten putty.
