When you hold them for the first time, the quality is immediately apparent, as is the thought that has gone into their design. But it is in use that these bobbins display their real ability to perform, and as such, we are confident that we have designed an absolute classic bobbin in the form of the Black & Whites range. There are four sizes in the range, and each comes with two interchangeable weights, so depending on the situation you are faced with, and what you want your indicators to achieve, you can customize the weight and tension applied to your line. Also supplied are two different length chains - the standard 6 inch and a longer 9 inch version - for you to choose between, depending on personal preference. The Hockey sticks that come with the Black & Whites are fully compatible with the Stow range of indicators, so once you have attached the magnetic bayonet-style hockey sticks supplied with your Black & Whites, you can change between styles instantly, without having to unscrew your alarms. The Black & Whites have a mechanism that runs through the body of the bobbin, allowing you to adjust the grip-strength of the line clip with a simple twist, again allowing for unrivaled customization of the hanger. Steke The Acolyte Margin Carp 9.5 is slim, stiff, lightweight, super strong and more than a match for commercial fishery carp! This seven-section pole complete with reversible mini extension is 9.5m straight from the bag and needs no cutting back to accept our largest 5.4mm Super Slick internal PTFE bushes. It is ideal when used in conjunction with thick, hollow elastic such as our popular pink 14-16 and red 18-20 Carp Bungee. The special Margin Kits supplied measure 2.33m and are designed to be shorter than the 2.89m kits supplied with the Acolyte and Acolyte Carp poles, as we believe it is the optimum length for more demanding, close-range work. Having a shorter length of elastic offers you much more control over a big fish, which can be really important when tackling snaggy swims. You can choose between standard and Ghost Tips. One of the Margin Kits also comes with a special Ghost Tip as part of the standard package. These tips have been specially treated with a light gray paint finish. This has been designed for ultra wary fish that could potentially be spooked by a carbon pole tip waving over their heads. As this special finish only adds approximately 2g of extra weight to the section, the balance and performance of the pole is not compromised. The standard package comes with a total of two Margin Kits and one Ghost Margin Kit but, as with all Drennan poles, you can tailor this to your own requirements. The 11ft (3.35m) model has a dark, burgundy red finish with a cork and duplon handle, screw-down reel seat and a neat keeper ring, offering superb value for money. These versatile carbon blanks are lightweight and well balanced with a beautiful fish playing action that is rigid enough to provide pinpoint, accurate casting, but forgiving enough to be a perfect shock absorber and avoid hook pulls. As the power of the rod comes into play progressively, playing even small carp and silverfish is an enjoyable experience, yet the rod is still capable of landing larger hard-fighting carp with ease. The 11ft model is a slightly heavier version with recommended reel lines of 5lb to 8lb (0.20mm to 0.25mm) and has slow taper glass quivertips of 2oz and 3oz. Because of the stronger rod and heavier tip it is able to cast larger feeders up to around 40 meters without compromising on accuracy and fish playing action. This version is rated for reel lines from 4lb to 7lb (normally 0.18mm to 0.23mm) and is supplied with tips of 1.5oz and 2oz test curve. It will cast small to medium sized feeders up to 30 meters both easily and accurately and the shorter length is perfect for smaller swims where room to cast and play fish is restricted.
