Drennan Slimline Single Rod Hard Cases are now available in three lengths.   New for 2016 is the Medium Single Rod Hard Case, which measures 178cm and is ideal for two-piece 11ft rods as well as most traditional three-piece rods. The Short Single Rod Hard Case is 160cm and ideal for two-piece 10ft rods and three-piece models up to 14ft. The Long Single Rod Hard Case is 196cm and designed to accommodate most longer three-piece and two- piece 12ft models. Slimline Hard Cases are made from a hardwearing, semi-rigid material with quality double zips. They also feature an internal pocket for quivertip storage and an internal pocket for a spare spool. A handy set of neoprene rod-retaining bands are also included. They each feature a carrying handle and, as with our Single Rod Sleeves, they can also conveniently attach to the outside of a Drennan 4-6 Tube Full Zip Rod Holdall or 6-8 Tube Rod Holdall for ease of transport. 3.3pt bait tubs are avail­able in Drennan’s fetching new aqua colour scheme and come with a solid ‘bait seal’ lid that’s ideal for storing pel­lets and other particle baits. Long-established as the most pop­ular style of bait tub on the market, the boxes are designed to fit neatly inside a Drennan Baitwaiter. Like all of Drennan bait boxes, they are made from a robust polymer that can be frozen without split­ting.  

This superbly powerful rod is capable of ultra long range casting with big feeders up to 3 ½ oz (100g). With the right technique, distances approaching 100m can be achieved with remarkable accuracy. Many other distance feeder models end up imbalanced and over-gunned, and in some cases look more like beach casters than feeder rods!  As a result, they lose tactile contact and feel when playing fish and result in more hook-pulls. Working with Five times World Champion Alan Scotthorne and top international match anglers Steve Hemingray, Darren Davies and Dean Barlow, we have extensively field tested and modified various Acolyte Distance Feeder prototypes in the UK and Ireland over a period of more than two years. The finished model successfully combines the normal feeder rod requirements of bite detection, sensitivity, fish playing feel and balance with ultra long range casting.  It also represents fantastic value for money compared to other models, some of which are more than twice the price! Martin Bowler points out this is more than just an ultra long range feeder rod, it is excellent for big fish, big feeders and its 13ft length provides improved line management in heavy flow.  Optimum mono reel lines are 6lb to 10lb (2.7kg to 4.5kg) or 0.08 to 0.12mm braid.  The rod is supplied with 3oz, 4oz and 5oz carbon tips, which are also available separately with 2.5oz and 6oz test curves.
