After 15 years the acclaimed Series 7 rods have been replaced as we take advantage of new and improved materials and manufacturing techniques in our new range of Vertex rods.
Available in 10ft and 11ft and ideal on commercial carp waters from bank or platform. The rod handles everything from silverfish to F1's and bigger carp. The forgiving action reduces hook pulls to an absolute minimum.
Optimum mono reel lines are 4lb to 6lb breaking strain. The rod is ideal for casting bombs and feeders at a variety of ranges. The rod includes two tips including a 2oz Glass tip and 3oz Carbon tip.
These new rods feature a high-grade cork handle with EVA casting grip, screw down reel seat, hook keeper ring, SiC guides throughout and stylish new Vertex branding.

Both have the required mellow actions which help play fish softly and so avoiding hook pulls. At the same time these have enough backbone to put the brakes on a chub diving for cover and even small commercial Carp.
Accurate casting at ranges of approximately 40m (11ft) and 50m( 12ft) with feeders up to about 45g is comfortable. Reel lines are in the range 4lb (1.8kg) to 6lb (2.7kg) although the 11ft could be matched with as low as 3lb (1.4kg). Some may even match these with braided reel lines to help with shy biting fish.
Both 11ft and 12ft rods come with push-in Feedertips of 1 1/2oz glass and 2 1/2oz carbon with differing test curve tips easily bought to extend further their versatility. Using a slightly stiffer 3oz Feedertip will still closely follow the blank and should pose no problems although if you need to use even stiffer/stronger Feedertips then the Carp Feeder versions might be an even better choice as they have the same action but a little more power.
Just like other Vertex Feeder rods being two piece these can also be stored and transported made-up in a ready rod sleeve or hardcase.

Specialist Landing Nets have a hollow D section alloy frame which is both lightweight and rigid.
The alloy spreader block has a crossbar to add strength and provide a convenient handle for lifting bigger fish. Importantly, this hollow frame has been properly sealed so it does not fill with water and gain weight when immersed.
The net itself has larger mesh on the sides to reduce water resistance and improve maneuverability and finer mesh on the base to cradle the fish.
The whole net including the frame is in a muted bronze/olive colour. When submerged this looks so natural and ‘weed like’ that fish are less net shy. Some species - especially chub - will occasionally dive into the net rather than veering away.
